Felix Aguilar Tomlinson is a Boston-based Mexican-American lyric tenor from Minneapolis, MN. Felix has performed extensively in Boston, New York, and Minnesota, tackling dramatically-demanding roles with a signature sweetness, authenticity, and charisma. He completed his BM in Voice Performance and GPD in Opera Performance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Felix is currently in residence for his second year as an Apprentice Artist at Chautauqua Opera and will be returning as a Resident Artist with Tri-Cities Opera for the 2023-24 season, where he will be performing roles in All Is Calm, The Fantasticks, and Il barbiere di Siviglia.

Recent opera engagements for Mr. Aguilar Tomlinson include performing Tobias Raggs (Sweeney Todd), Shakur (Thumbprint), and Thaddeus Stevens (The Mother of Us All) for Chautauqua Opera, performing Toby (The Medium), King Kaspar (Amahl and the Night Visitors), and Don Basilio/Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Tri-Cities Opera and Syracuse Opera, covering the role of Luis (Champion) with Boston Lyric Opera, performing Albert (Albert Herring), Tito (La Clemenza di Tito), Peter Quint (The Turn of the Screw), and Younger Thompson (Glory Denied) with Boston Conservatory Opera, and singing the role of Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore) with the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra.

Dedicated to the performance and production of new works, Felix is a founding member of Strange Trace – a fledgling opera company that commissions new digital works of opera from around the world. In addition to his duties as a performer, Felix has been able to explore his passion for directing, filming, and producing opera in the dozen new works he has created with them since autumn 2020.

In concert, Mr. Aguilar Tomlinson has sung as the tenor soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra and as the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Part I with the Boston Conservatory Conductor’s Orchestra, and sang as the tenor soloist in Eureka Ensemble’s Spanish-language production of Handel’s Messiah: El Mesías. Felix will perform Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings with the Horizon Ensemble in Boston later this summer.
